Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Rodriguez having to interfere. Francisco Seco might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wilfredo Rodriguez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Seco ran back to his position shaking his head. Wilfredo Rodriguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilfredo Rodriguez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cazalla in the 36th minute of play. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pindobassu EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. 39 minutes into the game, Jeff Beck was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pindobassu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francisco Seco in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilfredo Rodriguez saved Pindobassu EC from getting behind. After 44 played minutes Pindobassu EC got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho França. Pindobassu EC's Wilfredo Rodriguez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Dorian Hoffmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Dorian Hoffmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Uruguay were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Pindobassu EC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Cazalla took the corner. The corner led Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla to fire away a dangerous shot which Wilfredo Rodriguez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorian Hoffmann in the 58th minute of play. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Francisco Seco sped through Pindobassu EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wilfredo Rodriguez. After a defensive mix-up in Pindobassu EC's zone, Francisco Seco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Francisco Seco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Diniz came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximiliano Escribano to maneuver through the defense. Uruguay played a much better game than Pindobassu EC and deserved their victory. The Pindobassu EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
