With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10thth minute of the game Emanuel Ogășanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Guillermo Fontirroig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Sebastian Titz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Casaus struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Sebastian Titz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Emanuel Ogășanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Thiago Pliego when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastian Titz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Günter Vogelweide in the 69th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Titz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Sebastian Titz made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Pedro Indiano sent off a good shot on target.
