The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Fran Guerola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 61st minute of the game Leif-Eric St. Juste made a throw-in which Jailson Barral played forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 65th minute of play forced S O B E R A N O CIMZ's goalkeeper Fran Guerola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. S O B E R A N O CIMZ made a substitution. Gildo Pontes replaced Christiano Amaral. Dito Guedes scored 2-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Jailson Barral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute Jailson Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The S O B E R A N O CIMZ fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
