Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jonathan Alphonse started the match with the kick off. Saint Jean Pierre hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Jonathan Alphonse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Michel Loureiro in the 10th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Haiti's Rodney Emmanuel. The supporters of Haiti booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Pedro da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Haiti's goal looked a bit too open when Celsinho Macedo came free, but Noel Seide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Haiti's goalkeeper Noel Seide had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Basílio Perez. Celsinho Macedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Noel Seide made a huge save. In the 23rd minute, Celsinho Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Noel Seide was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jonathan Alphonse took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christiano Marques. Christiano Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Felix Dorval had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 37 minutes, Basílio Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goiás Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Basílio Perez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celsinho Macedo to make the kick off. A collision led to Haiti getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jean Claude Ulysse hit a great ball. After 69 minutes, Celsinho Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. After a defensive mix-up in Goiás Esporte Clube's zone, Jonathan Alphonse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christiano Marques came out of the goal and Jonathan Alphonse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Gesner Philippe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celsinho Macedo got his second yellow card in the match during the 91st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Celsinho Macedo hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Goiás Esporte Clube players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
