Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alen Kovič having to interfere. Alen Kovič showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Jasenko Rogošić managed to get in a good position for a shot. --Sibenik--'s supporters rose to their feet, but Jasenko Rogošić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Branko Furmek made a great header on --Sibenik--'s corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Antun Bunić hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. --Sibenik--'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alen Kovič could save by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domagoj Kovič during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th minute, Domagoj Kovič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
