After some careless play in the Independente FC defense, Stig Lööf kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Quintal. The Independente FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Quintal should have stopped the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The supporters of Independente FC booed when Hawk Tuah FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evert Mikaelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes, Paulo José Veiga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independente FC and the Hawk Tuah FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Romeu Guerra received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eddie Bergström came out and tried to block the shot, but Romeu Guerra slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 84th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Independente FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
