In the 4th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erik Vale was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After some careless play in the Panionios MK defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erik Vale. The Panionios MK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erik Vale should have stopped the shot. In the 14th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Camilo Gisbert made in the 16th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cristian Sancho. Allan Corrigan charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allan Corrigan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Panionios MK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Corrigan to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 29th minute of play forced Panionios MK's goalkeeper Erik Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erik Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 35th minute of the match. When Kyriakos Akrivoulis fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panionios MK's protests and gave Kyriakos Akrivoulis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Panionios MK getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Kyriakos Akrivoulis hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Themos Leontiadis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panionios MK's supporters rose to their feet, but Themos Leontiadis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Zorita in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Erik Vale, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Erik Vale in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goalkeeper Erik Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 63rd minute, Allan Corrigan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Corrigan in the 69th minute of play. Erik Vale made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Panionios MK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Erik Vale, making the score, 1-4. 76 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goalkeeper Erik Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Themos Leontiadis's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Camilo Gisbert made in the 80th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Erik Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 90th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Erik Vale. 1-6. The Panionios MK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
