The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elivélton Cunha to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Golden Generation was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yorrick Hekman to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute Yorrick Hekman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The nice shot from Rafael Gallo in the 91stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Turgay Şeren had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After 97 minutes, Milagros Fraga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Peru and the Golden Generation players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Golden Generation throughout the match.
