In the 5th match minute, Mercedes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filiberto Pinto to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Morais was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Mercedes's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Morais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Jan-Ivar Nordmo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
