The supporters of Honduras booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Federigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximino Tello got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Maximino Tello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Maximino Tello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davor Šuker was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Davor Šuker sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. If Maximino Tello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Esteban Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 minutes, Maximino Tello made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Valentín Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Davor Šuker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Davor Šuker went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Davor Šuker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Manuel Vistruario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Espinar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
