Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Grandi Lupi's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Charly Alberti dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 2-0. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charly Alberti in the 51st minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfonz Kállai came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Zorita slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 55th minute. Charly Alberti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Grandi Lupi made a substitution. Frank Tristezza replaced Charly Alberti. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfonz Kállai made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 78 minutes into the match, Grandi Lupi's Frank Tristezza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Grandi Lupi were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
