Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Petrigai in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind CA Juventud Unida's goalkeeper Emil Arendarski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Rainer Marthaler sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of CA Juventud Unida booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 played minutes, CA Juventud Unida's Ján Hanzel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rolando Noboa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CA Juventud Unida reached it. After a rather tough play, Peru's Luz Tejedor got a free kick in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rainer Marthaler to make the kick off. Modesto Cheche kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesús Banana in the 59th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Rainer Marthaler came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jesús Banana in the 68th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Peru's Emil Arendarski threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliseo Mina, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The throw-in from Witomir Milko in the 79th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. CA Juventud Unida's Emil Arendarski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Prats in the 82nd minute of play. Emil Arendarski had great luck who in the 82ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Joaquin Prats from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. In the 84th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. Witomir Milko made in the 94th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Clodoveo Hanni however managed to control. With a little luck, CA Juventud Unida's Emil Arendarski got control of the ball when Rafael Gallo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The CA Juventud Unida supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
