Olivier Gilg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Lopes in the 28th minute of play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute of the match Kenny Rothwell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Olivier Gilg. Olivier Gilg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 34thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 42 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olivier Gilg got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 57th minute Roberto Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when DIPLOMATA FC PAB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betinho Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roberto Lopes scored 1-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Lopes in the 86th minute of play. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Alex Chicote. The supporters of DIPLOMATA FC PAB booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Chico Donato didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela.
