Marshrose's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rupert McClure was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 22 minutes of play, Marshrose's Bara Miss made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The audience was convinced that Rupert McClure's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tobias Löfgren was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. The referee ignored Kerkûk FC's protests and gave Bengt Lundström a yellow card for diving instead. Marshrose's Homer Childers got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tobias Löfgren made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bara Miss in the 68th minute. Tobias Löfgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Kearney in the 69th minute of play. Bara Miss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Löfgren having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Bara Miss could shoot a difficult shot in the 83rd minute, which Tobias Löfgren however easily saved by the left post. Marshrose's Bara Miss was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 85th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Bara Miss recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gösta Salqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Marshrose's Homer Childers got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the final whistle sounded Marshrose left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Kerkûk FC.
