With a little luck, Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro got control of the ball when Doriva Pinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Ferreira Lopes MZC's Ronaldo Alcântara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiaguinho Netto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tiaguinho Netto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Ferreira Lopes MZC booed when Clube do Remo MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Paraíba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clube do Remo MZ's Tiaguinho Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Alcântara in the 37th minute of play. The corner led Ferreira Lopes MZC's Dedé Paiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Tiaguinho Netto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luizão Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Tiaguinho Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Basílio Eger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomé Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Vides in the 45th minute of play. Ronaldo Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Tiaguinho Netto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ferreira Lopes MZC. After the first half Ferreira Lopes MZC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cláudio Paiva's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Tiaguinho Netto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cláudio Paiva did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Tiaguinho Netto 52 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Afonso Paraíba in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomé Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidnei Bertassi in the 57th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ferreira Lopes MZC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Cláudio das Neves hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cláudio Paiva got free with Tiaguinho Netto in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69thth minute of the game Victor de Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Clube do Remo MZ fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when Clube do Remo MZ's Victor de Sena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tomé Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herald Depauw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Ferreira Lopes MZC's Ronaldo Alcântara slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tiaguinho Netto. That made the score 1-5 after 79 minutes of play. Tomé Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doriva Pinho in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, Victor de Sena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube do Remo MZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. Ferreira Lopes MZC were furious when Anísio Lucas was red carded, 89 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Ferreira Lopes MZC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Clube do Remo MZ:s goal. The referee gave Clube do Remo MZ a penalty, 92 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luizão Vides, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro. 3-5. 98 minutes into the match, Doriva Pinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomé Montenegro. Ferreira Lopes MZC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doriva Pinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-5. The Ferreira Lopes MZC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
