An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio das Neves in the 12th minute of play forced Clube do Remo MZ's goalkeeper Tiaguinho Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Clube do Remo MZ getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Joélson de Carvalho hit a great ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dário Martins to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manfredo Breckenfeld got free with Tomé Montenegro in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st minute, Dário Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ferreira Lopes MZC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Clube do Remo MZ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
