An unexpectedly hard shot by Timo Atan in the 13th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe Beko's goalkeeper Ali Behzat Arslantürk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the game, VFB ST.leon's Timo Atan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Behzat Arslantürk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Timo Atan came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the VFB ST.leon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timo Atan couldn't finish the play. Tommy Haug showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muhsin Çelebi in the 22nd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Erwin Caesar sped through Fenerbahçe Beko's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ali Behzat Arslantürk. Erhan Ülkenurs short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Tommy Haug to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Timo Atan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of VFB ST.leon booed when Fenerbahçe Beko was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hakan Temirhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A wasted opportunity for Fenerbahçe Beko. After a rather tough play, Fenerbahçe Beko's Hakan Temirhan got a free kick in the 69th minute. Erwin Caesar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Behzat Arslantürk having to interfere. Babür Öge's late challenge caught a VFB ST.leon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Babür Öge helped the player get up and apologised. Erwin Caesar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Ahmet İlke İlham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
