The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when KFC Uerdingen 05 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heinz Rummel didn't get a good kick on the ball. KFC Uerdingen 05's Tymoteusz Mios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petre Iftode in the 25th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon Bannenbusch to make the kick off. Zhao Sen Yang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tymoteusz Mios read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Uerdingen 05's zone, Zhao Sen Yang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tymoteusz Mios came out of the goal and Zhao Sen Yang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
