Zhao Sen Yang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brandon Mang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Zhao Sen Yang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Brandon Mang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th minute of the match Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a corner. KFC Uerdingen 05's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Olov Ahlbeck ran over to the corner to take the kick. İlhami Akyazıcı made a great header on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner, it was just that KFC Uerdingen 05's Brandon Mang managed to reach the ball for a save. 27 minutes into the game, Simon Bannenbusch recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ivan Chiuzbaian. Simon Bannenbusch showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Bannenbusch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhao Sen Yang in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brandon Mang prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 40th minute Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner. Olov Ahlbeck went to the cornerflag to take it. In a very dangerous position, a player in KFC Uerdingen 05 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! 45 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Zhao Sen Yang came free, but Brandon Mang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute of the match Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a corner. KFC Uerdingen 05's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Olov Ahlbeck ran over to the corner to take the kick. The KFC Uerdingen 05 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were winning 1-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Simon Bannenbusch made a kick off. Brandon Mang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner. Olov Ahlbeck went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s İlhami Akyazıcı to fire away a dangerous shot which Brandon Mang despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 57 minutes KFC Uerdingen 05's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Olov Ahlbeck who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s corner Dacian Tilea fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Brandon Mang quite easily take care of the ball. Fabrizio Nowak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski was substituted for Grigore Maghiran. With a little luck, KFC Uerdingen 05's Brandon Mang got control of the ball when Primitivo Grau tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brandon Mang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Primitivo Grau in the 69th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Primitivo Grau put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Brandon Mang. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Zhao Sen Yang took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Brandon Mang to make any attempt to save it. Brandon Mang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Sen Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Petre Iftode shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Mang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Primitivo Grau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Laudrup in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Olov Ahlbeck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brandon Mang narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Mugurel Pandele had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brandon Mang. KFC Uerdingen 05's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mugurel Pandele was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Brandon Mang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
