In the 9th minute Agostinho Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Chiuzbaian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Agostinho Negri had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Chiuzbaian. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agostinho Negri was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Raimo Ülend stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zhao Sen Yang's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raimo Ülend narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Raimo Ülend made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 25th minute of play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Negri in the 27th minute of play. In the 32ndth minute of the game Zhao Sen Yang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Korona Kielce's Raimo Ülend was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Korona Kielce's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olov Ahlbeck took the corner. 36 minutes into the game, Zhao Sen Yang cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Raimo Ülend was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Korona Kielce's Dave Legzdins got a free kick in the 41st minute. Olov Ahlbeck struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Raimo Ülend didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-. In the 44th minute, Agostinho Negri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Zhao Sen Yang made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Agostinho Negri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Chiuzbaian was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Raimo Ülend took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Sen Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Zhao Sen Yang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho Negri in the 74th minute of the match. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Negri in the 81st minute of play. Korona Kielce's Alex Macedo was substituted for Agostinho Negri. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Raimo Ülend successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ivan Chiuzbaian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alex Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Macedo in the 95th minute of play. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
