After 28 minutes, Renan Trancoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Batalionul U23 Dorobanti and the FC Steaua Pildesti players grew even worse after the yellow card. Codruț Velicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Stere, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Codruț Velicu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 94th minute of the match, Robert Răuţă got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marian Văduvescu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
