Léon Monnet started the match with the kick off. Ludomil Kajdasz made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Zygmunt Dunajski sent off a good shot on target. Ludomil Kajdasz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucian Stere in the 6th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Nicolae Barbu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Kajdasz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Constantin Deșliu hit a great ball. Marian Văduvescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léon Monnet, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Marian Văduvescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonin Dagorne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Léon Monnet in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marian Văduvescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Léon Monnet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marian Văduvescu was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Nae Griguță got a free kick in the 27th minute. Marian Văduvescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Léon Monnet's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Nicolae Barbu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ludomil Kajdasz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Antonin Dagorne notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu. Marian Văduvescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Herblay booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nae Griguță didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, FC Steaua Pildesti's Ludomil Kajdasz threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nicolae Barbu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zygmunt Dunajski to make the kick off. Herblay's Ludomil Kajdasz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Paulescu in the 52nd minute of play. Nicolae Barbu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ludomil Kajdasz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Léon Monnet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marian Văduvescu having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dimitri Bougault. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save FC Steaua Pildesti from getting a goal against them. Marian Văduvescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Léon Monnet in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute of the match Herblay got a corner. FC Steaua Pildesti's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dimitri Bougault ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Herblay's Dimitri Bougault to fire away a dangerous shot which Marian Văduvescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norbert Cadart got free with Marian Văduvescu in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Holger Duusgaard's late challenge caught a FC Steaua Pildesti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Holger Duusgaard helped the player get up and apologised. Holger Duusgaard kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Zygmunt Dunajski scored 1-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ludomil Kajdasz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucian Stere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ludomil Kajdasz having to interfere. In the 86th minute Zygmunt Dunajski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Kajdasz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Léon Monnet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Herblay's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
