Johans Ortubia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Pagomari Portilla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Grau Piura's zone, Pagomari Portilla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cesario Pedulles came out of the goal and Pagomari Portilla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesario Pedulles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Oxel Viñales showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 20 minute of play. Cesario Pedulles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oxel Viñales's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Grau Piura fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 24th minute. Penalty! Atlético Grau Piura:s Cesario Pedulles showed great skill when he stopped Cordero Casuso:s penalty. In the 26th minute, Cordarryl Baltuile hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pagomari Portilla struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. In the 41st minute Oliveiro Sibila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johans Ortubia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Turi Larrategui in the 93rd minute of play forced Atlético Grau Piura's goalkeeper Cesario Pedulles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Pagomari Portilla fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monitor Huáscar's protests and gave Pagomari Portilla a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Atlético Grau Piura booed when Monitor Huáscar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pagomari Portilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monitor Huáscar's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
