When Monitor Huáscar's Pagomari Portilla in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oxel Viñales to make the kick off. Johans Ortubia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibalt Tanasio in the 51st minute of play. After 56 played minutes ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ got a freekick which was hit by Héctor Chumpitaz. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sandalio Domingo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ's Sandalio Domingo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Sagasti in the 84th minute of play. ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ's attentive Héctor Chumpitaz managed to snatch the ball when Benigno Torne made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. After 89 minutes of play, ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ's Hechter Trinidad made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johans Ortubia was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Velasquez during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Velasquez to maneuver through the defense. Oxel Viñales fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandalio Domingo having to interfere. ꜱᴀᴊʀᴀꜱ ꜰᴄ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when Humberto Sagasti scored to the left of an out of position Sandalio Domingo, making the score, 2-2.
