The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastian Villa during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a free kick in the 28th minute. When Taco Scholte fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ASC South United's protests and gave Taco Scholte a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th match minute, ASC South United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taco Scholte to maneuver through the defense. After 36 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. Ivan Navarro hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 39 played minutes ASC South United got a freekick which was hit by Taco Scholte. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Luca Espinar hit a great ball.

In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Honduras. Edmundo Espiga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Erwin Teesing. 0-1. Erwin Teesing stood somewhat misplaced when Edmundo Espiga came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 65 minute. 69 minutes into the match, ASC South United's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Erwin Teesing reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Bender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of ASC South United booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteban Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wesley Eringa was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The ASC South United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
