Rui Patrício took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Gisbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 16th minute of play forced Kiaxi FC's goalkeeper Rui Patrício to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Patrício made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Maximiliano Escribano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rui Patrício was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Rolando Sendoa kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Camilo Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. After having played for 52 minutes, Silvio Abastas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kiaxi FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Abastas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Rolando Sendoa's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Abastas in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Placido Gervaso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Rolando Sendoa, made in the 85th minute of the game. The referee ignored Uruguay's protests and gave Alberto Gisbert a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kiaxi FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Placido Gervaso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
