In the 23rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgardo Patxi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgardo Patxi having to interfere. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tristan Baldwin in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Lengua de Lobo's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Patxi came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 40th minute, Pelayo Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lengua de Lobo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosendo Tono didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Patxi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 46 played minutes Lengua de Lobo got a freekick which was hit by Severino Azibar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tristan Baldwin to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Lengua de Lobo getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Emanuel Quintan hit a great ball. Patryk Dubilas scored 1-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Lengua de Lobo's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Patxi came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lengua de Lobo's Edgardo Patxi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Lengua de Lobo from getting a goal against them. In the 69th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Edgardo Patxi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 72nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Edgardo Patxi in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristan Baldwin in the 78th minute of the match. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Edgardo Patxi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lengua de Lobo's Blas Herauso was substituted for Rosendo Tono. Lengua de Lobo made a substitution. Jaime Nayely replaced Severino Azibar. 85 minutes into the match, Lengua de Lobo's goalkeeper Edgardo Patxi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Edgardo Patxi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Felix Montenegro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 89 minute of play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lengua de Lobo throughout the match.
