Siro Garoas short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Garoa in the 17th minute of play. After 19 played minutes beşiktaş A.Ş. got a freekick which was hit by Hasan Tahsin. In the 22nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Jazowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Siro Garoa. With an all-out effort, beşiktaş A.Ş.'s Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Siro Garoa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the game, beşiktaş A.Ş.'s Siro Garoa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Siro Garoa to make the kick off. If Arif Bilge Usta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas spun around in front of the goal 60 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of beşiktaş A.Ş.'s goal. Hasan Tahsin charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. During the 66th minute of the match Hasan Tahsin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hasan Tahsin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Hasan Tahsin hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute Alkan Acar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alkan Acar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Jazowski having to interfere. beşiktaş A.Ş.'s Iwan Jazowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 88th minute of play.
