The ball went over the crossbar instead. 60 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Feliks Nieruchliwy came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Patricio Salamon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Patricio Salamon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Patricio Salamon could save by the left post. Feliks Nieruchliwy scored 1-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patricio Salamon having to make a save. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Patricio Salamon made a huge save.
