Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Rodney Watkinson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodney Watkinson in the 55th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 75th minute of play forced Clapham Rovers's goalkeeper Nilmar Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléberson Mendonça in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 82 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Rodney Watkinson came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléberson Mendonça in the 89th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Clapham Rovers's goalkeeper Nilmar Brasil had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Puig. Lautaro Puig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Nilmar Brasil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Clapham Rovers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
