Radamel Hendrickx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustin Bâru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Scarafia Ghost showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodoro Esquipula, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Go Ahead Eagles's Scarafia Ghost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pieterjan Anteunis in the 17th minute of play. Scarafia Ghost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Portugal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karel Cromefeldt in the 22nd minute of play forced Go Ahead Eagles's goalkeeper Scarafia Ghost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Yuri Portugal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Scarafia Ghost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th minute, Iustin Bâru reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Radamel Hendrickx. The goal made the score 1-0. Scarafia Ghost made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieterjan Anteunis in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's goalkeeper Radamel Hendrickx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Gonçalves. Radamel Hendrickx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bâru in the 35th minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Go Ahead Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 50th minute, Octav Zdraşcu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Radamel Hendrickx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iustin Bâru in the 52nd minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Octav Zdraşcu in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Go Ahead Eagles's Mateusz Zabrzeski. If Yuri Portugal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Go Ahead Eagles's Panos Kaklamanos was substituted for Panos Karagoutis. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuri Portugal in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Scarafia Ghost saved Go Ahead Eagles from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iustin Bâru in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radamel Hendrickx saved Fauna Utd from getting behind. Go Ahead Eagles's Scarafia Ghost played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yuri Portugal in the 73rd minute of play. Yuri Portugal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scarafia Ghost having to interfere. Scarafia Ghost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yuri Portugal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iakovos Efthimiadis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Radamel Hendrickx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute of the match Go Ahead Eagles got a corner. Fauna Utd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cássio Gonçalves ran over to the corner to take the kick. Dani Carbajal hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Radamel Hendrickx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erling Lewandowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Mateusz Zabrzeski made in the 94th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Fauna Utd's Octav Zdraşcu.
