Enrico Albertosi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enrico Albertosi having to make a save. After some careless play in the all players for sale defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrico Albertosi. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enrico Albertosi. Enrico Albertosi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Enrico Albertosi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. In the 78th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Enrico Albertosi. Enrico Albertosi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Valcareggi in the 83rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Domenico De Rubeis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Domenico De Rubeis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenico De Rubeis, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute.
