Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. Merexildo Raimundo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Merexildo Raimundo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Merexildo Raimundo took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. 16 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of GREEN LIONS's Tolis Prinianakis. Tolis Prinianakis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. GREEN LIONS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jorge Peredo in the 24th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GREEN LIONS's Tolis Prinianakis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the game, GREEN LIONS's Merexildo Raimundo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 35 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tolis Prinianakis. GREEN LIONS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. In the 38th minute, GREEN LIONS's Calisto Flayre dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. The GREEN LIONS fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when GREEN LIONS's Merexildo Raimundo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Venezuela booed when GREEN LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merexildo Raimundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Peredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-2 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Merexildo Raimundo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Peredo came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tolis Prinianakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute Merexildo Raimundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calisto Flayre in the 59th minute of play. Jorge Peredo took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-2. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Merexildo Raimundo went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-2 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calisto Flayre's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merexildo Raimundo in the 76th minute of play. Nikos Kouzoulakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Merexildo Raimundo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GREEN LIONS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-2. When Merexildo Raimundo came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the GREEN LIONS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Merexildo Raimundo couldn't finish the play. GREEN LIONS's Tolis Prinianakis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save GREEN LIONS from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merexildo Raimundo in the 94th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the GREEN LIONS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
