The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Cornelio Combarros in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Roch Zdeb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 29th minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Peru's Eliseo Mina got a free kick in the 44th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Wisła Kraków made a substitution. Gwidon Bambas replaced Mieszko Makomaski. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariusz Kornaszewski to make the kick off. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Puglielli in the 55th minute of play. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Milagros Fraga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roch Zdeb having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luz Tejedor in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roch Zdeb prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wisła Kraków's Roch Zdeb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 72nd minute of play. Roch Zdeb showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 77th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match, Julian Murillo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Roch Zdeb saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute Ermanno Puglielli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roch Zdeb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 88th minute of play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru were awarded a corner in the 93th minute after Wisła Kraków's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eliseo Mina took the corner. Peru's Eliseo Mina was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roch Zdeb in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Wisła Kraków succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Peru had controlled the match.
