Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rune Jarstein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 8th minute of the match, Wilhelm Nienhaus tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lüder Roppel kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Peru's Julian Murillo got a free kick in the 10th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Wilhelm Nienhaus came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lüder Roppel made in the 27th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Zé Paulo da Silva immediately put the ball in play. Wilhelm Nienhaus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Wilhelm Nienhaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Hertha 1969 defense, Julian Murillo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rune Jarstein. The Hertha 1969 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rune Jarstein should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute of the match, Gigel Elenescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rolando Noboa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 39th minute of the match Luz Tejedor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rune Jarstein showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilhelm Nienhaus in the 52nd minute of play. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Lüder Roppel made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Rune Jarstein in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Wilhelm Nienhaus came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 63 played minutes Hertha 1969 got a freekick which was hit by Lüder Roppel. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Rune Jarstein made a huge save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gigel Elenescu in the 74th minute of play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the game, Lüder Roppel threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gigel Elenescu's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. A collision led to Hertha 1969 getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Ziemowit Tscherner hit a great ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Ziemowit Tscherner kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Lüder Roppel got a throw-in 88 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Zé Paulo da Silva. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Tenorio in the 92nd minute of play. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hertha 1969's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eliseo Mina was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Eliseo Mina made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein managed to reach the ball for a save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
