João Vítor Sena ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Ismael Secco struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmares Futebol Clube. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Secco in the 52nd minute of play. After having played for 53 minutes, Túlio Maravilha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmares Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Túlio Maravilha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Túlio Maravilha, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Palmares Futebol Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luisinho Nogueira in the 57th minute. After taking down the ball on Palmares Futebol Clube's corner Luisinho Nogueira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Gláuber da Costa hit a great ball. Palmares Futebol Clube's Leonardo Paz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Palmares Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. João Vítor Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. Thomás Maia replaced Luisinho Nogueira. After 73 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Leonardo Paz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 75th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Leonardo Paz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Túlio Maravilha's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Túlio Maravilha helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If João Vítor Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Túlio Maravilha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Túlio Maravilha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
