The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 46th minute of play forced Avel Vat's goalkeeper Danny Pasquier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Avel Vat's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Abraham Alguacil was slow to take the kick. During this time Panama's players had a chance to rest. Panama's Abraham Alguacil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Danny Pasquier in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half Panama were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Berganza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Danny Pasquier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 52nd minute of the match. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Youri Djorkaeff in the 57th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 58th minute by Abraham Alguacil got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Youri Djorkaeff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. After 66 minutes, Malcom Vrignon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Avel Vat and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Malcom Vrignon kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Alex Cambeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Youri Djorkaeff blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. Tomas Berganza hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Danny Pasquier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 79th minute. The supporters of Avel Vat booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Youri Djorkaeff took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcos Cotilla. Panama's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Avel Vat's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Danny Pasquier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, Émilien Tessier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danny Pasquier made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Tomas Berganza sent off a good shot on target. Danny Pasquier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Avel Vat getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Malcom Vrignon hit a great ball. The Avel Vat supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Panama's performance. The match ended with a win for Panama.
