Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Geraldo de Godoi made the kick off which started today's match. After a rather tough play, Taquaral Campineiro's Ramón Leme got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8th minute, Armando Donatello reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 1-0. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Taquaral Campineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmir Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute, Eliseo Noboa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Costa Rica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo de Godoi in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amílton Sá was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raúl Nóbrega in the 44th minute. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Geraldo de Godoi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Geraldo de Godoi really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Hugo Ferrant's late challenge caught a Taquaral Campineiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Hugo Ferrant hit a great ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Nóbrega in the 55th minute of play. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Nóbrega in the 68th minute of the match. Axel Tasis struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Amílton Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Taquaral Campineiro were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ramón Leme took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ramón Leme got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benito Sanz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo de Godoi in the 78th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílton Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geraldo de Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Taquaral Campineiro were the better team. Taquaral Campineiro's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
