Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patricio Costa to make the kick off. Yan Mendonça made in the 55th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Nestor Azevedo immediately put the ball in play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. In the 94thth minute of the game Fabián Fuentes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
