Zhou Yuan Feng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvaro Pesce in the 9th minute. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Stinking Dogs's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zhou Yuan Feng quite easily take care of the ball. When Michal Vanek fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Stinking Dogs's protests and gave Michal Vanek a yellow card for diving instead. Mojmír Šimončič blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Zhou Yuan Feng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Brændgaard came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zhou Yuan Feng came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Pesce in the 43rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Stinking Dogs's Bohuslav Tomas got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gunnar Brændgaard made a kick off. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zhou Yuan Feng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Mexico's Leonardo Leoz suffered a concussion in the 58th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 59 minutes, Miroslav Čulen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Stinking Dogs and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mexico made a substitution. Jonathan Atenas replaced Leonardo Leoz. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC Stinking Dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miroslav Čulen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the match, FC Stinking Dogs's goalkeeper Zhou Yuan Feng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after FC Stinking Dogs's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zhou Yuan Feng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gaona received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zhou Yuan Feng came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Gaona slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 92nd minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when FC Stinking Dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mojmír Šimončič didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
