Göksel Canfeda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of the match. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind istanbulls's goalkeeper Göksel Canfeda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from İsmail Doğa. Göksel Canfeda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Senna in the 28th minute of play. Göksel Canfeda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the istanbulls defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Göksel Canfeda. The istanbulls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Göksel Canfeda should have stopped the shot. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Senna in the 43rd minute of play. Göksel Canfeda came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Göksel Canfeda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Göksel Canfeda made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Göksel Canfeda in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Göksel Canfeda in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Göksel Canfeda. Göksel Canfeda yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Göksel Canfeda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in istanbulls's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Göksel Canfeda came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. istanbulls's Göksel Canfeda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save istanbulls from getting a goal against them. 68 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of istanbulls's Göksel Canfeda. Göksel Canfeda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Göksel Canfeda in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Göksel Canfeda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Göksel Canfeda. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Göksel Canfeda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Göksel Canfeda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
