The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the A.C. Patagonia defense, Axl Rose kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Francesco Toldo. The A.C. Patagonia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Francesco Toldo should have stopped the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dario Dainelli during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th minute, Dario Dainelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Corrente hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The supporters of Howling Dawn U18 booed when A.C. Patagonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Maldini didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axl Rose in the 19th minute of play forced A.C. Patagonia's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 played minutes Howling Dawn U18 got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Oskarbi. After some careless play in the Howling Dawn U18 defense, Alfredo Corrente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santos Hori. The Howling Dawn U18 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santos Hori should have stopped the shot. Axl Rose's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francesco Toldo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Santos Hori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edoardo Paris in the 32nd minute of the match. Santos Hori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moreno Torricelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Santos Hori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Corrente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Ernesto Bruno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uriel Lauren in the 46th minute of play forced A.C. Patagonia's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francesco Toldo made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Axl Rose sent off a good shot on target. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 56th match minute, A.C. Patagonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Mancini to maneuver through the defense. A.C. Patagonia made a substitution. Emiliano Di Santo replaced Ernesto Bruno. 59 minutes into the match, A.C. Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Axl Rose came free, but Francesco Toldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to A.C. Patagonia getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Edoardo Paris hit a great ball. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axl Rose, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Francesco Toldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axl Rose in the 65th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Juan Bittor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Howling Dawn U18's Juan Bittor got a free kick in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Howling Dawn U18's goalkeeper Santos Hori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Corrente. With a little luck, Howling Dawn U18's Santos Hori got control of the ball when Edoardo Paris tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 79 minutes, Baltasar Walme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Howling Dawn U18's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baltasar Walme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francesco Toldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Scott Weiland in the 81st minute of play. Francesco Toldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Scott Weiland, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.

Howling Dawn U18's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
