Rafael Loyola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lucas Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafael Loyola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 26 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Loyola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Ferreira. Rafael Loyola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernando Vinhas charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Vinhas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, Fernando Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rafael Loyola narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rafael Loyola came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Mexico's Joel Gaona. But to his dismay, Joel Gaona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 45 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Rafael Loyola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rafael Loyola. Rafael Loyola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Mancebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rafael Loyola. That made the score 1-5 in the 52 minute of play. Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Loyola having to interfere. Lautaro Mancebo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-6 to the left of a surprised Rafael Loyola 57 minutes into the match. Alberto Tafalla in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rafael Loyola, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 63 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafael Loyola. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. In the 69th minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafael Loyola. Rafael Loyola yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-9. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo put it in 1-10 from a short distance just to the right of Rafael Loyola. In the 81st minute, Lautaro Mancebo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Zézinho Severo fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Werneck FC - DMZ's protests and gave Zézinho Severo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd minute, Zézinho Severo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Werneck FC - DMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo scored to the left of an out of position Rafael Loyola, making the score, 1-11. Rafael Loyola was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Alberto Tafalla capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alberto Tafalla really showed his touch with that goal: 1-12. 89 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rafael Loyola. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-13. In the 93rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
