Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kamal Habib. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kamal Habib, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Kamal Habib didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 14 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kamal Habib breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Lucky Star's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Kamal Habib reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play forced Lucky Star's goalkeeper Kamal Habib to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kamal Habib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Lucky Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Saur didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lucky Star's Kamal Habib was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Cucu Milo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cucu Milo in the 39th minute of play. Cucu Milo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ading Restiana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Lucky Star's Bagong Tomagola was substituted for Pance Tarmadi. In the 54th minute, Luis Andino fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 57th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kamal Habib made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Uum Bel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th match minute, Lucky Star was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darius Karepouan to maneuver through the defense. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Kamal Habib in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Cucu Milo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 played minutes Lucky Star got a freekick which was hit by Dino Saur. The audience was convinced that Cucu Milo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lucky Star throughout the match.
