Basílio Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when INTER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Renato Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Axel Tasis couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for INTER FC. Basílio Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Renato Berger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, INTER FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Basílio Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Basílio Maranhense. Eliseo Noboa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. 63 minutes into the match, INTER FC's Natanael de Moraes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Renato Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Aaron Alcocer reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Basílio Maranhense. The goal made the score 0-5. After 70 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Silas Romero. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Renato Berger in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of INTER FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Maranhense having to interfere. Hugo Ferrant hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Alexander Carballo lost his temper 93 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 93rd minute. Penalty!
