An unexpectedly hard shot by Silas Caro in the 11th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Lucky Star's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

In the 53rdth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lucky Star's Joélson Domingues was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joélson Domingues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 55th minute. The supporters of Lucky Star booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Otong Pink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Otong Pink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute Hasan Rumangkit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucky Star walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
