Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jörgen Bjurström started the match with the kick off. Ove Hake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörgen Bjurström got free with Benito Sanz in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Nils Liedholm IF's Jörgen Bjurström in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th minute Kalle Norström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Jörgen Bjurström tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Kalle Norström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nils Liedholm IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Kalle Norström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Zebastian Österlund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörgen Bjurström in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Zebastian Österlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Jörgen Bjurström scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 1-0. In the 31st minute, Zebastian Österlund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 32nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Kalle Norström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zebastian Österlund in the 36th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Nils Liedholm IF got a freekick which was hit by Kalle Norström. With an all-out effort, Nils Liedholm IF's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 39 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jörgen Bjurström, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jörgen Bjurström's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Ove Hake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 45th minute of the match. After 46 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ove Hake was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. During the 58th minute of the match Zebastian Österlund completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Zebastian Österlund a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Nils Liedholm IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zebastian Österlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Nils Liedholm IF's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ove Hake came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Kalle Norström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After having played for 79 minutes, Kalle Norström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nils Liedholm IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kalle Norström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Juhlin in the 87th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Kalle Norström notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the Nils Liedholm IF players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
