After 2 minutes, Violet Vrúblyanski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Цървена звезда and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute Dobri Pipkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes, Diyan Svilarov made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Diyan Svilarov sent off a good shot on target. 36 minutes into the game, Avgust Kyurkchiev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 58th minute, Lilko Shentov ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Цървена звезда's Zapryan Sachanski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Цървена звезда from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dobri Pipkov in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 72 minutes into the game, Цървена звезда's Dobri Pipkov nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. In the 78th minute, Luis Andino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 95th minute Diyan Svilarov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
