The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Santana got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in União Sport Clube Paredes's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to União Sport Clube Paredes getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Leopoldo Barbosa hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Altino Palha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Abram Sarmiento sped through União Sport Clube Paredes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edwin van der Sar. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 16th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Cazalla in the 18th minute of play forced União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes of play, Colombia's Luis Cazalla made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edwin van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 27th minute of play forced União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alexandre Santana got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Piara Bue kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dabi Saens, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute, Jakub Szczepanowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 64th minute of play. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Ignacio Mastache in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edwin van der Sar, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jerónimo Furtado in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Manzanares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 77th minute of the match, Ignacio Mastache tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Edwin van der Sar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakub Szczepanowski in the 79th minute of the match. After 81 minutes União Sport Clube Paredes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Mastache who took care of the corner kick. Alexandre Santana scored 4-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leopoldo Gaxan might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leopoldo Gaxan ran back to his position shaking his head. When União Sport Clube Paredes's Jerónimo Furtado in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ignacio Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Edwin van der Sar made a huge save. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by União Sport Clube Paredes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kevin Mastache was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Colombia's corner Abram Secada fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Edwin van der Sar quite easily take care of the ball. Colombia's Abram Secada was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 94th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. União Sport Clube Paredes were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
