Joel Wigghers might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Armindo Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Wigghers ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Traian Hăvârneanu got free with Nils Elmhuus in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute Gong Qi Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gong Qi Fan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Armindo Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gong Qi Fan in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gong Qi Fan in the 35th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Gong Qi Fan sped through VB-Team's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Armindo Salgado. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gong Qi Fan made a kick off. Armindo Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gong Qi Fan in the 57th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Traian Hăvârneanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nils Elmhuus was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. When Traian Hăvârneanu came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the VB-Team fans jumped to their feet. Playa Malvín's Quinto Ampudia was substituted for Gong Qi Fan. After 73 played minutes Playa Malvín got a freekick which was hit by Joel Wigghers. Gervásio Severiano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nils Elmhuus. Playa Malvín's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quinto Ampudia in the 77th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Quinto Ampudia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Armindo Salgado, 0-5. Armindo Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Mândrilă, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After 87 played minutes VB-Team got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Guerra. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quinto Ampudia got free with Armindo Salgado in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Playa Malvín supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Playa Malvín would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
